Running After Hysterectomy 8-week post op

January 9, 2019

Today marks my 8-week post op.

I am feeling pretty good.  I’m finally actually feeling like I didn’t even have surgery.  I definitely feel 100% better than I did before surgery.  I have not had any spotting or any kind of discharge for a couple weeks now.  Now and then I get little twinges or slight cramping, but that could be due to gas or something else.  I haven’t had any real pain at all.  My sex life is better than before, because it no longer feels like I’m getting punched in my insides.   My swelly belly seems to be going away or at least not as noticeable.
I increased my running to 4 miles at a time non-stop and feel great when I’m finished.  I still run at a nice easy pace around 10-10:30 min mile pace. This weekend I am going to try for 5 miles.  I made myself a goal for January to walk, run or bike at least 1 mile a day & do at least 10,000 steps a day.  So far so good.  On Sunday I ran 3 miles, biked 4 miles and walked 1 mile with no problems at all.  I am working my way to hopefully be able to complete my challenge race on Feb.2nd.  We shall see.....
